This is developed by <strong>Mark Otto<\/strong> and <strong>Jacob Thornton<\/strong> at Twitter. It was released as an open-source product in August 2011 on GitHub.  It is a free and open-source CSS framework directed at responsive, mobile-first front-end web development.<\/p>\n<p>It is a combination of  CSS  and JavaScript-based design templates for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Typography<\/li>\n<li>Forms<\/li>\n<li>Buttons<\/li>\n<li>Navigation<\/li>\n<li>Other interface components<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Old Versions<\/h2>\n<p>In Jan 2012, Bootstrap 2 was released, which added built-in support for Glyphicons, and other new components, as well as changes to many of the existing components. This version supports responsive web layout, meaning the layout of web pages adjusts dynamically, taking into account the characteristics of the device used (whether desktop, tablet, or mobile phone).<br \/>\nThe next version, Bootstrap 3, was released in Aug 2013. It updated components to use flat design and a mobile-first approach.<\/p>\n<h3>Current Version<\/h3>\n<p>Mark announced Bootstrap 4 in Oct 2014. The first alpha version was released in Aug 2015. The first beta version was released on 10 Aug 2017.  Mark suspended work on Bootstrap 3 on Sep 2016, to free up time to work on Bootstrap 4. Bootstrap 4 was finalized on January 18, 2018.<\/p>\n<h3>Bootstrap 5 Alpha<\/h3>\n<p>Bootstrap 5 Alpha was officially released on 16 Jun 2020, although an experimental version of the package, created by Material <a href=\"https:\/\/studysection.com\/blog\/ui-ux-designer\/\">Design<\/a> for Bootstrap based on a developer version of the Alpha already surfaced the web weeks before. Version 5 Alpha is currently the latest version of the package. <\/p>\n<h3>Why use it?<\/h3>\n<p>It is a framework to help you design websites faster and easily. You can easily include them all, or one by one.
