The latest version of WordPress (CMS) is 5.6 (Simone) released on December 8, 2020. WordPress currently covers 38-39% of the web and these are easy to build and maintain.<\/p>\n

  1. Additional Block Patterns<\/strong>
    \nA lot of new blocks have been introduced in the new versions of Header blocks, Post blocks, comment blocks, Query blocks.<\/li>\n
  2. A new default theme, Twenty Twenty-One<\/strong>
    \nWordPress traditionally releases a new default theme every year and named after the year. This one comes with Twenty Twenty-One as the new default WordPress theme.<\/li>\n
  3. Update Gutenberg to the latest version with new features<\/strong>
    \nGutenberg is an editor in WordPress, it has also been updated to its latest version with new features.<\/li>\n
  4. PHP 8 support<\/strong>
    \nWordPress always tries to be compatible with the updated versions of PHP<\/a> on their release day. But, full integration for PHP 8 may not be completed by the WordPress 5.6 release.<\/li>\n
  5. Automatic updates for major WordPress Core releases (opt-in)<\/strong>
    \nWordPress 5.6 introduces a new User Interface that permits website administrators to opt-in for major versions of automatic updates.
    \nThis feature always follows plugins and themes auto-updates user interface<\/li>\n
  6. The public beta of full site editing<\/strong>
    \nFull site editing provides a block-based experience for editing full pages. Which includes several header blocks, post blocks, comment blocks, query blocks, navigation screen, widgets screen, block-based themes.<\/li>\n
  7. oEmbed changes<\/strong>
    \noEmbed requests used by both Gutenberg and the Classic Editor to pull in content from Facebook and Instagram. Facebook and Instagram, deprecated these types of embeds on October 24th, 2020. Because of that, WordPress has already removed them from the stable Core 5.5 release, and they will not be included in WordPress 5.6.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
