Website Testing<\/h2>\n

The process of making a website free of defects, bugs, and errors is known as website testing. It could be a static website or a dynamic website. A good website should be bug-free and secure.<\/p>\n

Functionality Testing<\/h3>\n

The testing performed to check all the features present on the website is known as functionality testing. The features could be basic or related to UI, server, database, APIs, etc. For example, verifying that all the links present are active and work as expected, CSS and HTML are in place and forms are working as required.<\/p>\n

Usability Testing<\/h3>\n

Usability Testing basically ensures the quality of the website meaning that it is easily accessible and usable for the user. Things like buttons and links present in the header, footer, or the body should be consistent on each page and should work similarly on mobile<\/a> devices also. The content should be mistake-free and all the images should have relevant alt tags.<\/p>\n

Interface Testing<\/h3>\n

Testing of Database Server, Application, and Website Server is performed in Interface Testing. For the application, it should be made sure that all the test requests are successfully sent to the database and if there is any error, it should not be displayed to the user and should be sent to the support after being caught by the application. There should be no service denial in the webserver. The database should respond correctly to the requests sent. Correct messages should be visible to the users on the front end in case of any errors.<\/p>\n

Database Testing<\/h3>\n

The database is an important part of a website especially if it is a web application. So, database testing ensures that there are no errors in query execution. There should be no issues while creating, updating, or deleting data. Queries should be fully optimized for quick response times. Data should correctly reflect on the web application.<\/p>\n

Compatibility Testing<\/h3>\n

The functioning of the web application on a number of different platforms is checked in compatibility testing. A single website may appear in different ways on different web browsers or devices. It should be ensured that the website works as required on all these platforms and browsers. The website can also be checked for mobile device compatibility. The working should be consistent on different types of Operating systems.<\/p>\n

Performance Testing<\/h3>\n

Load testing and Stress testing are performed on the web application to check its performance. Performance testing is actually a part of system testing. The basic aim of performance testing is to check if the website works in certain conditions. Load testing checks the response for normal and peak load conditions. Its breakpoint is found using stress testing. Load times should be minimum and should be checked for different network connection speeds.<\/p>\n

Security Testing<\/h3>\n

Securing a website is important to keep user information safe. It is even more important for E-commerce websites as users trust them for their money. Unauthorized access to the website should be blocked. The user session should terminate after a defined period of time. Redirection to encrypted SSL pages should be put in place.<\/p>\n
