As the name suggests, combining two or more things together is known as Join.<\/p>\n

In terms of SQL, when we have to combine two or more tables on the basis of certain conditions then it is called SQL Join. <\/p>\n

There are 4 types of SQL Join:<\/h2>\n

  1. inner join<\/li>\n
  2. left join<\/li>\n
  3. right join<\/li>\n
  4. full join<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    1. INNER JOIN:<\/strong> As long as the condition satisfies this join selects all the rows from both the tables.
      \nExample:<\/em><\/strong>
      \nSELECT department.Dept_id,employee.NAME,employee.Age FROM employee
      \nINNER JOIN department
      \nON employee.Emp_no = department.Emp_no;<\/code>
      \nThe above query shows the name and age of the employee working in different departments.

    2. LEFT JOIN:<\/strong> fetch all the rows of the table that is on the left side of the join and only those rows that fulfill the required conditions are from the table that is on the right side of the join.
      \nIt is also known by the name LEFT OUTER JOIN<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

      \nSELECT employee.Name,department.Dept_id
      \nFROM employee
      \nLEFT JOIN department
      \nON department.Emp_no=employee.Emp_no;<\/code><\/p>\n

    3. RIGHT JOIN:<\/strong> This join is similar to LEFT JOIN. It fetches all the rows of the table that is on the right side of the join and only those rows that fulfill the required conditions are from the table that is on the left side of the join.
      \nIt is also known by the name RIGHT OUTER JOIN.<\/p>\n

      \nFROM employee
      \nRIGHT JOIN department
      \nON department.Emp_no=employee.Emp_no;<\/code><\/p>\n

    4. FULL JOIN:<\/strong> This join is the combination of both the joins LEFT JOIN<\/strong> and RIGHT JOIN<\/strong>. It fetches all the rows from both tables.

      \nFULL JOIN department
      \nON department.Emp_no=employee.Emp_no;<\/code><\/p>\n
