If you have multiple Lambda functions that depend on each other, your current Lambda function may need the execution output of another Lambda function to process it.
\nIn such cases, you should\/have to call the dependent lambda function from the current lambda function.
\nPlease check the example below. We have two lambda functions.<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. process PDF contents – pdf_invoice<\/code><\/li>\n
  2. save PDF contents in the database – save_invoice<\/code><\/li>\n
  3. We are going to use nodejs to implement this scenario.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Function – pdf_invoice<\/h2>\n

    Let\u2019s write the code for pdf_invoice<\/code> lambda function.

    Function – save_invoice<\/code><\/h3>\n

    Let\u2019s write the code for the lambda function save_invoice<\/code>
    \nWe require the AWS SDK to call the lambda function (i.e aws-sdk)<\/code>.
    \nIf you are using AWS Lambda then no need aws-sdk, Otherwise, we need to install it.

    Syntax:<\/h3>\n

    Invoke the target function by calling the invoke()<\/em><\/strong> method of the client object. Here’s an example:
    \n\"lamda-03\"<\/p>\n

    In the above example, FunctionName <\/em>should be the name or ARN (Amazon Resource Name) of the target function. InvocationType <\/em>specifies whether the invocation is synchronous (RequestResponse)<\/em> or asynchronous (Event). Payload<\/em> is the input data to be passed to the target function, encoded as a JSON<\/a> string.<\/p>\n

    In above code lambda.invoke(params).promise()<\/code> will call the lambda function and return the response.
    \nIn above code response.Payload<\/code> will provide the response returned by the lambda function.<\/p>\n
